There is no denying that tree planting is a physically challenging job. The fitter the planter, the more trees he or she plants, which means more
money at the end of the day.
Get ready for the season by following an 8 week training program developed by Selkirk College called "Fit to Plant." This is proven to increase stamina and prevent injuries.
During the season, make sure you:
Eat: You will burn 5,000-7,000 calories a day. Eat well to keep up strength and provide energy.
- Sleep: Most silviculture workers are sleep deprived. Don't be one of them; get your nine hours.
Having a strong, healthy season is the best way to ensure a strong paycheque.
